I blame the Internet, as I've seen many pics of him drawn holding a crook and flail, as well as one image of this that looked like an ancient Egyptian carving. I know it's not meant to be that long though, I just made it that long because it looked better XD
Although, while this is meant to be typically Anubis, I somewhat wanted to go with what also looked "good", and this could also be taken as a real life anthro jackal who is believed to be Anubis and is royalty among the citizens? I dunno lol.

Yeah I wasn't sure it was completely accurate XD I only did a bit of research and looked up some images for inspiration, and a few pics had him holding a really long striped scepter like this, which I thought looked cool :3
And haha yeah, the internet is ful of a lot of information...but a lot of it is incorrect information! Gotta be careful where you hunt >_<

Well, in ancient Egypt, there were two rods or scepters which were used a lot. The Heqa/Heka which is the crook staff you used and the was scepter, which has a forked end and Seth's head at its tip. The Heqa/Heka was more used by the pharaoh to show off royalty (Also used by Osiris as the deceased god king of the underworld). The was scepter is more often used by powerful gods like Ra, Anubis and Seth as it stands for power and dominance.
It is not a big deal, Anubis probably borrowed it from the pharaoh or he just keeps it from the old pharaoh that just died until he hands it over to the new one. :)

the Gargoyled tv show. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gargoyles_(TV_series)
That old show left an impress on me and some of the figures I now use as a standard to say what is or isn't. Like an artist com pairing his work to a master artist he looks up to. So I'm saying I putting your work here in the same league as something I like and admire very much.
