Twas the Winter Solstice
The longest night of the year
Every pony had gathered
to celebrate and spread good cheer

Spike had worked hard
from dawn until dusk
Everything had to be perfect
It just simply must

Every pony was there
Awaiting the moon's full rise
When Luna would fly by
to herald in a new year of good times

As the countdown commenced
Spike stared towards the sky
His heart and mind wishing
that Rarity was at his side

Five, four, three
Luna made her way towards the moon
Two, one, *MUAH*
Spike couldn't help but swoon

"My dearest, Spikey-Pooh"
Rarity whispered in the little dragon's ear
"I resolve to always love you
throughout this and every year"

I'm glad you like it. :) It's truly the reason I love art so much. Being able to put words to pictures is a very special experience for me. Especially putting words to pictures friends give to me so kindly as gifts. :)

Our 2014 project will be so much fun in that such efforts will work in reverse. My words will become your images. And, like this work here, the synergy of the two will make a whole far greater than the singular parts.

Is it really going to be the "Year of the Horse" this year? Kazootles! I'm sure we'll have lots of fun special on that.

I love Spike and Rarity. It's like a love both genuinely have, but neither can truly have. Kind of a "Beauty and the Beast" meets "Romeo and Juliet". :)

'Twill indeed be Year of the Horse come January 31 - which incidentally falls on a friday leaving us open for all sorts of shenanigans on The Hub the following morning! ^^

Gnarly! I will definitely be looking forward to all the promotions they manage to pull off leading up to, and on, that Saturday.

It'll be even more fun seeing what the Brony community does. Equestria Daily never seems to have a shortage of fun when even the tiniest of references to Pony become available.

I'm glad you liked the poem for your picture. I told you I wanted to try and make something special with your wonderful gift. This idea came to me yesterday while at work. A nice poem to give some potential for how "New Year's" comes to the ponies while Spike gets a most welcome, New Year's kissie. :)
