I drew this in the 80's when this was still somewhat of a fresh idea in North America. It was more or less a chanllenge to figure out how to design the robot so it could fold back up into an accurate F-15. That's assuming, of course, that it didn't have to contain engines, fuel, avionics, a cockpit, undercarriage, or structural elements of any kind, only hidden robot parts. Stoo-pid!
I never did like giant robot cartoons. But a job was a job.

The Pentagon actually does have a project for something like this. It's a robot like contraption that can walk out into the battle zone and pick up wounded soldiers, then carry them back to safety just like something from Star Wars. It even has a CD player to sooth the injured soldier on his way back.
But I'm thinking... how likely would anything like this get a living body back to the rear? It would draw fire for miles. It would be lucky if the robot got back, let alone a few scraps of the unlucky wounded man it tried to rescue.
