Accompanying music that inspired this:
Battle {Champion} (Pokemon X/Y)
So, it's been ages since I did a poem, and this one is a little more accessible that I feel I can put this up anywhere and people can enjoy it.
Normally I would only put up my poetry on DeviantART but the last time I tried that, it was the most fucking absurd impossible bureaucratic pile of shit I ever had in STRUGGLING to upload a fucking poem. God, I am never going back there again now.
ANYWAYS, rant aside, I was listening to the final battle music from Pokemon X/Y (which I recommend hearing because it sounds fucking awesome), and it inspired me, like anything, to write this poem.
It's the story of a boy who, after struggling to make it to the top of the league and become the Pokemon master, his father is the last opponent.
His father left him when he was young, and he forever despised him for it, burning with a hatred for him which in turn developed into an urge to travel, to wander, to become a pokemon trainer so that one day he would meet him...and defeat him in battle.
Turns out, this was the father's intention all along, for that he knew his son would never have a reason to leave so long as he was around to love him. So he left, in order to carve a path for his son to follow, to give him the same life of adventure that he once had.
This also came out inspired after I realised that none of our Pokemon game protagonists EVER had a father, they all had single mothers. What the hell's up with that, you think at least one kid would be pissed about not having a dad yanno?
So I made this, hope you all enjoy
