Here we see him front and back, in his boxers, casual clothes, and battle outfit, and how tall he is compaired to his cousin (think that's the right relation in this case) Petie.
Now onto his bio so please enjoy ^,^
Name: Chester Jasper Vesuvius (official Kastanie but prefers his old last name)
Nicknames: C.J., Fat Kid, Tubby, Fatty, etc
Gender: Male
Species: Chespin
Age: 14
Height: 5'0”
Personality:
Chester is a sweet, kindhearted, imaginative kid at his core… the problem is that core is wrapped 8 layers deep with issue upon issue upon issue. The unresolved grief and guilt from losing his parents, self-worth issue, self-esteem issues, confidence issues, minor depression, along with shyness and social awkwardness to round it out. To make the emotional pain and sadness from all these issues go away Chester turned to food and ate away his pain… leaving him very fat… which got him teased and triggered his self-esteem issues… which made him eat more creating a vicious cycle. Outside feeling he’s worthless, fat, unlikable, and generally good for nothing Chester also tends to be painfully awkward when he tries to socialize or even just talk to kids his own age, often unintentionally insulting or angering them which makes him feel worse because he upset somebody.
While deep down Chester is a nice guy who wants to be liked and make friends he has a major problem that makes him come off as a jerk to people. He tends to think in cartoonish and over exaggerated terms, has a vivid imagination, and has trouble shaking the first impression he forms of people when he meets or is just informed about this. For example when his aunt described Petie and Rose to him he got the mental image of a goo-goo eyed diapered toddler sucking his thumb and shaking his rattle in the arena and a ditzy, blond, cheer-leader like girl who’s peppy but not bright and fixed those in his mind as who they were before he even met them. This habit and the trouble he has ignoring or changing this first impression leads to him accidentally insulting, mistreating, or dismissing people. He knows he does this and tries to ignore his first impression once he’s proven wrong and gets to actually know someone but tends to slip up when he’s distracted or worried. This problem, at its root, stems from his bright and vivid imagination. He’s a dreamer and able to creative vivid images and stories, making him a wonderful story teller. He just has trouble keeping it in check sometimes and occasionally lets it run away with him and cause trouble.
Despite spending a lot of his time either depressed or eating to ignore his depression Chester can actually be happy from time to time, particularly when he’s spending time with his uncle or his niece Mary. He is also protective of his family and insulting or threatening them (as in the case of the “little” members like Mary or Petie) is one of the few ways to actually make Chester angry enough to fight back since he usually avoids all non-arena conflict at all costs. When he loses his temper Chester puffs himself up with bravado and lashes out without restraint or doubts at the person who angered him. Generally acting completely the opposite of how he is the rest of the time. Fortunately it’s rare for him to enter this state since most of the time people just bully him and never mention his family meaning Chester reacts by fleeing and, occasionally while crying, stuffing his face to make the pain go away.
History:
Chester was the only child of Chelsea and Cyrus Vesuvius, a Chesnaught and Typhlosion couple who worked as brokers for several large companies, often requiring them to fly out to deal with far off clients in person. Despite this they shared a loving relationship with their son who they doted on. Whenever they went on a business trip Chester would be left under the care of his uncle Harold who nicknamed the little chespin C.J. and acted as a kind of big brother figure to him, and when he started working with the league would often take Chester with him letting the little grass-type meet several pro-battlers in person. For his first seven years this idealistic existence was Chester’s life, and he was happy. Then tragedy struck to destroy it.
During one of his parent’s trips where Chester had been left with his uncle the plane his mother and father were on experienced a catastrophic mechanical failure and crashed. Chester’s parents weren’t among the few survivors of the incident leaving the seven year old chespin an orphan and left in the custody of the only relative he had who would take him, his uncle. Chester took the loss of his parents hard and turned to food to ease the emotional pain since he’d always been a big eater before. This led to him becoming very fat which didn’t work well with Chester’s blooming self-image and self-worth issues. The radical changes of having to start living with his uncle (aka moving away from his home, school, and friends, and starting anew) also didn’t do him any favors. Before his uncle could try to do anything to help or fix it Chester rapidly became a self-loathing, depressed, binge eater with no confidence in himself.
The best his uncle could do to counteract this was set him up on an exercise program the two of them did together when they had the time and his uncle wasn’t trying to cheer him up. This kept Chester from becoming unhealthily obese and actually caused him to build up a fair amount of muscle despite his looks. It also inspired the chespin to decide to try and become a battler, wanting to follow in his uncle’s footsteps since, despite how badly he missed his parents, Chester admired him… as well as the fact he didn’t think he had any talent at anything else and he thought it might make the bullies leave him alone. It didn’t work but it gave him a goal to aspire to at least. Most of his grade school life went by as a long miserable experience for Chester due to all his issues.
Even the addition of a new member or two to his small family hasn’t helped Chester’s issues any though he does dearly love his new baby cousin and like being a big brother to Mary (his aunt on the other hand intimidates him even if she’s offered to help him get stronger). What HAS affected the normally depressed chespin’s moon though has been the news they’re moving to Viridian (which sent him into another bout of panic eating at the thought of moving again) and that he’ll be attending the PCA, the foremost battle academy around. Naturally Chester was excited about this and the chance to prove his worth to himself… and he was also so nervous he ate his way to several new pounds. He’ll have his work cut out for him when he gets to the academy…
Ability: Bulletproof
Moves:
Freshmen – Needle Arm, Rollout, Defense Curl, Swagger
Fighting Style:
Being trained by his uncle, who lacks a formal fighting style outside basic techniques, Chester’s fighting style also is very basic and mostly self-created by imitating his uncle and putting his own spin on it. His most basic moves are all punches, hammer fists, and lariats with Needle Arm being his most powerful blow. Chester’s own spin on his style comes from using Defense Curl (a move he inherited from his father) and Rollout as his main attacking and mobility method. His sheer mass and weight help make this a dangerous attack but Chester is still mastering it and has trouble aiming and steering his Rollout, having to make extremely broad turns that make it hard for him to hit a moving target. Also Chester’s Rollout is the only move he has capable of closing the speed gap between him and a faster opponent since his weight slows him down and makes chasing down an opponent a difficult if not impossible task. His weight isn’t a total downside though since, along with his naturally good defense and Bulletproof ability, his defense is incredible and he can take a major beating without suffering too much actual damage. Also due to all the training his uncle has had him do Chester is much stronger than his flab would imply and packs a major punch. When all else fails, or if he just feels it’d make the fight easier, Chester will resort to using Swagger and simply try to capitalize on the opponents confusion before the attack boost can become a problem, though this can and does backfire on him from time to time.
Miscellaneous Facts:
- Chester is a huge fan of superhero and fantasy stories (particularly sword and sorcery style fantasy) and has a large collection of both regular books and comic books that he reads when he’s alone. He also enjoys drawing his own stories in comic format and is decent at it though he tends to lean towards cartoonishly exaggerated characters, both features and personality wise, a bit like how he tends to picture people in his head. Naturally he is ashamed of both of these hobbies and hides them from people.
- Chester has intricate knowledge of how league rankings, match set up, and events work due to spending so much time at his uncle’s work with him. He also has met enough pro-league battlers (both second-stringers and top billers) that he’s stopped being awed by them and tends to think of them as just normal mon.
- Has trouble controlling his Swagger move and occassionaly accidentally uses it when he’s talking with people. Particularly when he’s flustered, usually when he’s accidentally annoyed/angered/insulted the person he’s talking with. Naturally this makes the conversation go downhill faster than normal for Chester.
- Despite his uncle being a decent cook (and Chester not being too bad at it himself) the chespin prefers snack, junk foods, and sweets to eat and usually has a bag of chips or bar of chocolate to drown his sorrows in somewhere close at hand wherever he is. He also has a fondness for cup ramen noodles and will often snack on that if he has a chance.
- Has a fondness for little kids even before Mary was born if only cause they were innocent and around them he could feel like he was big, strong, and a hero… because of this he like to fantasize about standing up for people smaller than him against bullies… but this rarely works out in practice.
And that's Chester in all his fat, accidentally offending glory =3 hope you liked him.
Anyway please enjoy, fav & comment, and have a great day! =D
