Scene idea for a story taking place in Jasper Perilloux's early days as a foreign legionnaire. Right at the beginning of WWI, he is sent to Algeria to protect the French protectorate against the attacks of tuaregs and saboteurs.
His unit stumbles across an Ottoman intrigue; the Sublime Porte plans to raise the Djihad in all Muslim countries whith a special focus on those governed by adversay European states. The tuaregs, clans of highly religious robbers are an easy traget for this plan. To their military training and support, a smal Ottoman assault detachment was sent to their aid by chartering a Spanish ship.
Here we have them catched Jasper and threatening him with the bastonade if he would not open his unfaithful mouth.
