This is a tune I wrote a couple of years back. I figured I'd throw it up on here. Like most of my stuff it has a long way to go until I can say it is really finished. But feel free to give me any advice or criticisms on it. Otherwise, enjoy the song. :)

Lyrics:
When you were a child living with your old man
He put this guitar in your hands
He said, "Son someday you'll become something big.
You'll live the way I always wish I did."

So say, "Hey, dad are you proud of me?
Have I become all the things that you wanted to be?

You're seventeen years old now and your playing on stage.
With three other kids who are about your age.
Your dad's in the crowd to hear you play.
So what do you think that he would say,

You've been playing now for forty-three years.
You've been in bands and out of bands and now you're hear.
You've finally accomplished something great.
And hey it only took your whole life to waste!
