No actually, they've been drawn in other music commissions and it's supposed to be a luminescent texture. Because of the light corona in the background this time around I chose not to have the items blazing light as I'd drawn similar weapons, otherwise the white light would confuse the main light source and vise versa.

I think the effect might come off a bit better if there was a bit of gradation of some sort, so it's not totally flat.
That's just my opinion, though.
