This is one drawing I think I'm going to redo sometime in the future. I tried to give Martin an action pose, but looking back at this, the pose doesn't feel right to me? I was tempted not to post it, but it got a good reception on DA, so I guess I should anyway. x)
Enjoy!
Also yes, I made myself a new icon! I'm going to be posting a bigger version it soon here.

Actually you're very right about that. Imagining his hand in a different position does make this pose feel better.
The sword in his left hand wasn't an intentional choice. I was mirroring the drawing back and forth to help avoid distortion, and I guess it just happened to end up this way heh. Was it specified Martin the Warrior wielded with his right hand? If so, I can try flipping it the other way. =)

I don't recall. It's been a long while since I've actually read the books. But don't get me wrong - I have nothing against lefties. I was just curious if you did that intentionally or not. And either way, his affected hand seems to be held awkwardly. Mainly his shoulder - I feel like that shoulder oughtta be a bit lower, even if he's holding his hand up.
Well, if you're a warrior who learned from a warrior, one would be good with holding a sword in both hands. I suppose it would be one arm which would be a bit more stronger than the other.
Well, from the poses I see of Martin on Google, there is a majority of ones of him being right handed, even the cover of the books have him right handed. Ah well.

Yes, I agree that the pose is a bit off. It looks unbalanced, not as dynamic as some of your other ones. The sword is also a bit too small from the looks of it; I think that's more what it would look like in Tagg's hand, small, but it was always said to be of decent size for a mouse. I like what it seems you wanted to do with the expression, but I don't really think you quite reached that: he looks determined but unsure, which doesn't really match the pose it seems you were going for either.
Just my thoughts though. Not your best, could definitely better, but still decent :3
