ChocoEgg North American Animals #1
posted 12 years ago Anthro Artist | Support me with Shinies!
This is something I've been working on, off-and-on, since August.
Since I know I'll get the inevitable questions about "What are ChocoEggs," they're these things: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11399369/
They were never released in the US due to safety concerns. (small parts that could be swallowed.) and other than the dinosaur and pets sets, the only animals they did were animals of Japan. Now while Japan does have a few cool animals (giant salamander, Steller's sea-eagle, snow monkeys) a small island can't compare to the diversity of an entire continent.
So in the alternate universe where I'm head of Microsoft and can do whatever the hell I want to, this would be my series of North American animals. I tried to pick iconic species that are unique to the Americas, although the species of the far north (like the Bowhead whale) tend to be circumpolar and are found in the far north of the old world as well.
This was incredibly fun to do-- I got a chance to portray animals I've never drawn before. Some of these came out better than others, but with about 100 pictures to do, they can't all be perfect. The animals were traditionally done with pen, ink and markers. The actual ChocoEgg sheets are a scan of the real ones, with the lettering & colors changed, and composited digitally with the drawings.
