More digital painting practice. I still don't know what I''m doing most of the time, but hey- I'm having fun!
That...that hand is pretty horrible, but I didn't manage to make it look better so I left it all smudgy and stuff.

Oh yeah. They are translucent but you're still able to see the membrane. And, the motion is cool, I especailly like how the right side (our right) wing comes forwards a bit and under the belly area (I think I might be viewing this wrong though).
Plus the composition is cool, I like how the angles of the dragon and the sky cross where the hand is and draw the viewer to focus more on that.

Oh no it's gonna grab me!
There's too much palm. It seems like the claw is drawn from two opposite angles, with the fingers overlapping. Trying to grab my own face, I would say everything to the right of the rightmost (from our p.o.v.) finger shouldn't be there, and that the thumb is twisted to far to the left. The rest I chalk up to freaky dragon anatomy.

Don't worry, it's a friendly dragon! See how it's smiling?
I don't know anymore, really...I tried to observe my hand too, and it looked okay to me...then I started painting it and all hell broke loose xD. I agree with everything you said and next time I'll try to make some photo references before I go to foreshortening like that. One thing though- I actually can twist my thumb like that :D
Freaky dragon anatomy makes me happy

I see an almost circular effect in the painting here, and it sort of simulates motion. I can actually imagine it taking off or landing, and being all "RAAAAR". I like it. And I also like your choice for colors, mine usually end up being either too sharp or too faint, or a combination of both.
