David's pelt gets darker in winter, not lighter. David's dark fading stripes take over until almost all his stripes are that dark colour, his socks become darker as well and the lightest brown becomes the same colour as his stripes normally are in summer, except for some parts of the face, neck, body, hind legs and tail. Be careful, though! some stripes remain the same summer colour!
And some others that can't be seen during summer due to the colour being the one as the main pelt are now visible.
The fluff amount on his body increases a lot, especially at the chest and tummy part, and around his neck as well.
This coat can be seen from Mid-Late November to Mid-Late March, when the colours begind to fade back to their summer pelt.
