My professor was kind enough to let me use this model of Nyxis by
NevyBluu for my final project in Clemson's DPA 8070 3D Modeling and Animation class. I textured Nyxis, and made the environment and animation, all in Maya 2013. I detailed much of the process as well on my blog, if you'd like to see the works-in-progress: http://lyrit-twilight.livejournal.com/176349.html
Wow, I can't believe the class is over now. Being able to make animations of characters in 3D has been one of my lifelong dreams, and now it's almost like, "Now, what do I do with my life?" XD I wasn't expecting to be able to learn about animation in so much detail, let alone work with my character on the last two assignments. I still can't believe I got her talking in a few days, I really can't. There's something magical about the moment your character starts becoming alive in front of you. ( And now, I have the power of 3D animation at my fingertips. Muhahaha! ) I wish I could say more to show my excitement! I'm quite tired, really, and still recovering from the sleep I sacrificed for it! XD
Many thanks to Kate Akers (
Kiwifie ) for the voicing of Her Royal Squeakiness, Princess Eflasia. =D I voiced Nyxis(Of course!) Kate gave me the idea to use the quote from Fire Emblem in the first place, and then I suggested that she be Eflasia so we could have some good 'ol fashioned character interaction. The whole thing was a blast. =)
Finally, here's a download to the full-quality animation:

Whoops, thought I replied to this one XD
Thank you! I referenced a video of me saying the same thing (the video of that silliness is in the livejournal blog link), and I am SO GLAD I did. Otherwise, I wouldn't have picked up on all the subtle body language that goes into just standing still and talking! 3D animators are amazing @w@
