The Poopsmith is one of the characters from Homestarrunner.com. Here's a quick pic:

He has that name because his job and calling in life is shoveling up what the characters of that website call "whatsit", cleaning up after the livestock outside the castle where the King of Town lives. He took a vow of silence and never speaks in any of the cartoons, with the exception of an anniversary episode or something where he sang for everybody. It really is a funny website if you have some free time to check out some of the cartoons and Strongbad emails (he's one of the main characters).
