"Having fixed himself a relaxing but dirty vodka-martini, (Stirred, not shaken) Dr. LaTrans took the crystalline curiousity in his paw and started to examine it in detail. At first it simply appeared to be smooth, amorphous-but-egglike, a lump of silica compounds - but it soon became apparent that - Yes, yes, there WAS indeed some spark of life within it. Dangerous to the life on this planet if it were to be freed from its silica-matrix prison.
He took a long sip of the martini and set it down. Then he rose; went across the room, gingerly holding the Crystal Egg. He opened a heavy wooden cabinet and opened a drawer in it, retrieved a small ironclad box, and placed the Crystal Egg into it. The Coyote pulled a small cylindrical object from inside a jacket pocket, then closed the box and pointed the device at the box. A cheery chirpng sound filled the air for a few seconds, and the ironclad box snapped shut with a quick *snap* .
Dr. Latrans set the box back into the drawer, closed the cabinet, and then fixed himself another martini.
He sat down, and began to reflect upon his latest search for the pieces of his most recent puzzle. His thoughts drifted: first of the journey he took on the doomed ship, then to the stories of Doyle's fictional character Sherlock Holmes. He thought 'O how similar!'
After awhile, the Coyote's thoughts flowed to dreams, as he fell into a relaxed and much-needed sleep.
The world was safe now; he could afford that bit of rest."
This is the kind of magic I imagine with pictures like this. Thanks!
