A native of the Amazon River, this is the Electric Eel. It is aptly named because it is one of the few animals in the world capable of producing electricity in its body. However, even though it's called an eel, it's actually more related to catfish than eels. The electric eel is capable of producing 600 volts of electricity, which is capable of bringing down big quarry, including full grown adult humans. Fortunately, fatalities are rare. When hunting, the eel uses a quick jolt of electricity on its prey to shock it, then they quickly swallow it up. These guys are capable if eating fish, amphibians, and birds. Electric Eels are Air breathers and must come up often to breathe.
