Here we have my next favorite role for League of Legends, the support role.
Supports are a wide range of champions and playstyles, ranging from tanky, well-armored meat shields to healers, shielders, and champions capable of bestowing buffs and debuffs to allies and enemies alike.
In a nutshell, supports keep their allies alive as long as possible using whatever tools they have available.
So these three are my favorite choices for this role: Alistar, the Minotaur; Sona, Maven of the Strings; and Lulu, the Fae Sorceress.
All three I play equally, depending on my mood, so I'll just go down the line. :)
Alistar is a strong, tank-class support. His ability to knock enemies around, block shots, heal allies, and dive turrets for kills is unparalleled in the support role. He's also one of the few male supports there are, so that's cool too. Here we have him wearing my favorite skin for him, Longhorn Alistar. Literal cowboy. What's not to love? :D
Sona I picked up long ago, back when Inervating Locket existed, but I never stopped using her. Music based support champion? Yesplz. I also find it fun that, because she's a mute, you as her summoner end up being the only one who can hear her voice. And her ultimate makes people dance. Fun times before the slaughter. :D
Lulu is someone who I played early on and never really lost interest in. A suppordle (support yordle), Lulu was a long time coming, and her story was too much fun not to at least try her out. Lulu found a faerie in the woods, Pix, and spent CENTURIES playing with him in an enchanted glade. When she came back, she decided to play games with the kids of her former village, turning them into flowers and animals to make the games more interesting. The other yordles asked her to leave, and so she came to the League to put her gifts to good use.
As for myself, I play her for her quirky style of supporting, changing enemies into animals, sending Pix to shield her allies, and making them explosively grow to save them from death. That, and her quotes. As she so eloquently put it, "Yup, that tasted purple!"
And there you have it, my top three picks for the support role. Give me your opinions, favorites, etc. I had a great time working on this one, and I look forward to the next one just as much. :)
