Hey thar,
Looking at the image the colors are really really bright. Which is good when you're trying to get attention to your work, but bad when you're the person tries to look at it with a closer inspection. Desaturated colors are a good idea for everything. The only purpose pur white should ever have in your work is for highlighting objects with EXTREAMLY shiny or wet surfaces Such as eye highlights, or water.
The folds in the sweater are very well drawn, but that does you little good if they aren't shaded right. Take a look at http://lizkay.com/Lizkay.com/Design.....complete01.htm
There's a lot of stuff there that can explain things much better. I also suggest http://www.toonapalooza.net/tutorial.htm. And here's an awsome tutorial to help with fur texturing. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/23326382/
I'm still trying to figure it all out myself. I'm having a heck of a time doing it though. So try it out!
