Here's the same tail as the previous post, but being worn by a person and swinging around her leg! I'm always really proud of how fluidly and freely these tails move, though I have to take so many photos of them to get one that isn't motion blurred.
This photo lets you better see the pattern of colors I gave it. I wanted to avoid having big blocks of colors, but I didn't want to have it be completely random. So I designed a pattern where the different colors curl and swirl around each other, with each individual patch of color being fairly small. If you want to see my schematic of it, you can check it out here.
You can see more photos of it over on my Tumblr blog: http://armoreddragon.tumblr.com/post/68927555734

This one weighs in at 3 lbs 11 oz. And yeah, the scales are more expensive than I would have considered reasonable, but after working with them, now I really want to get some for myself. I don't know if other people will want them enough to be willing to pay for the premium material, though.
It takes a sturdy belt, but it doesn't really put any strain on your pants. When you're wearing one of these tails it's actually a really nice feeling of weight--enough that you feel it moving, but not so much as to hurt (at least, unless you're wearing it for many hours at a time).
