I finished that sketch of Princess Inky and decided to use it as her reference picture. She really is a princess- of Saddle Arabia! Legitimately a desert princess. It seems like whenever she tells people that, they think she's joking. :I

About Inky:

Only 19 years old, Inky's a pretty young princess. She's still learning from her mother and father how to be the best princess she can be, though she's got the basics down- she's a truly sweet, kind pony who just wants everypony to get along and be happy. As well, related to her cutie mark, she's got an uncanny and rather incredible ability to infer things about others that most ponies wouldn't see, and she can also influence the thoughts of others (though this takes a lot of energy and can make her pretty sick). Having a zebra father, she's in tune to zebra magic, and because of her lack of sight, she's particularly in tune to it. While she can't do things like unicorns, she can do basic magic, such as conjuring of small things and lighting candles and lights without matches.

Her mane and tail naturally stick up in the way that zebras' hair tends to do, but she takes great pains to make it lay down flat. When she was born, she was nothing but 2-toned grey, but as she got older, the purple in her mane and tail came in. Despite being different, as a zebra-pegasus, she loves her stripes and wings, and couldn't imagine herself any other way. In fact, the idea of having a unicorn horn actually distresses her quite a lot. She prefers her body exactly as it is.

Inky is visually impaired. She is not totally blind, but everything appears to be very cloudy and blurry for her, to the point that other ponies mostly appear only as colored smears, and everything is slightly darker than normal. Despite her poor vision, she gets around just fine. As well, Inky suffers from small seizures that last no more than 10 seconds each. They usually affect the right side of her body, but particularly strong ones can make her entire body stiffen up. They happen about once a week, usually late at night while she's asleep, so they aren't terribly inconvenient.

Inky's home life was lovely and quaint, with her parents being caring and sweet toward her. They wanted nothing for the best for their daughter, and they got it. However, her life hasn't been perfect. She and her parents have often fought over her gender "choice," and they have also fought over her dislike of wearing her princess crown and shoes.
