Metassus issued a challenge to write a 365 word story on the topic Wheelhouse. After getting several comments to the point of what I was trying to do not working, and for the sake of getting it right I decided to take the time to edit it a bit. For those interested the first one is now in scraps here http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1220571/

Well, the character Bass is a fish the whole time, and the boat is already in the process of sinking. I was trying to describe it in such a way that it may seem to be taking place above the surface and sinking at the same time. It was an interesting experiment but probably would have been better done outside word limitations.
Word limitations are fun! Just be thankful we weren't doing monosyllables!
I could almost feel the turmoil of the sea, and the horrible claustrophobic feeling of the sinking boat. (Especially as I've just written my reply and given myself a couple of nasty flashbacks. :) )
Well done, sir. Fine work! Accept this gilt star. * (I think that's the second?)

*pokes head out of pile* Now this is a lovely little gem, well perhaps pearl is a better metaphor *smile*
The word limit does make development difficult, so some things in your mind are almost sure to not make it through, but it is a wonderful little taste of word choice and imagery and I like it.

*poked head out of own pile* Thanks, I was surprised at how fun it was to limit yourself to so few words. One has to really consider and chose your words carefully and trim the excess even more carefully. I’ll probably do this again once I get caught up with all the reading I’m behind on. *burrows back into pile*
