This is a piece that pays tribute to a wild bobcat female, who has decided to make her home on Mulefoot's ranch.
He tells me about seeing* her every once in a while, and I'm hoping she finds herself a Robert cat, and has some kittens romping around fairly soon.
*Mulefoot snapped the thumbnail pic with his cellphone, and it has also been cropped, so the photo is low-quality as a result. Nevertheless, it's good enough to see how gorgeous she is. :)

I sometimes wish you would write more nature poems, because I think they tend to be your greatest strength. I, of course, don't want you to stop writing your other poems at all. That would be a shame. However, your best nature poems tend to leave me with a sense of awe almost equal to that I experience with the historic greats. At the risk of partaking in a bit of flattery, I believe I may have told you that your "Amongst Ancient Friends" has cemented its' place as one of my favorite poems.
I have one question though. When you say she's Tejas-born, you were referring to Texas, correct? Wonderful work, Wotan!
