Alright, I'm well on my way to translating my comics into Spanish. I just hope I can do it under an hour pretty soon, because this takes too long. Especially when this font doesn't support accented or upside-down characters. Upside down punctuation is in Arial(!'s) and Comic Sans(?'s), while accents are their own layers.
The reason I'm sharing this portion of Kenny's tour is because I had to be extra creative with translation. First, the wolfy girl makes an "L" with her fingers to call Kenny a loser. Okay. BUT, the Spanish translation of "Loser" starts with a P! There's no way an L sign would have any meaning to a Spanish speaker, or at least not the same meaning. Hold on... how did that paper get in her hand? *grin* Then I cheated on laughing sound effects. It's all onomatopoeia anyway.
Second, "Right..." "...but not right" is an English pun. So how did I carry it over to Spanish? I made a Spanish pun! I decided he could just as well be saying, "But...", and the Spanish word just happens to be similar to the word for dog(*dog sound file barks in background in a bizarre twist of coincidence, wow*). Beware of dawg.
Also, the tour guide's last line is somehow SHORTER in Spanish! This is usually fine, but I made the caption box specially-cut for the English version. IT HAD A DANGLY BIT! After considering options, I turned the extra bit into a wall and completed Kenny's ear to cover it.
I look forward to my first pantomime comic, whenever that will be. :)

salmy's help, the comic now makes sense. But, none of my changes mentioned made the final cut, so I guess I'll leave this version here for historical reference of my Spanish illiteracy and link you to the fixed Spanish version here.

Mmm, do you use some kind of online translator? o.O Because the few translations I've seen are not really that good... I could lend a paw translating your comics into spanish if you're interested. There's always ways to adapt a joke as well, like... even if 'loser' in spanish is 'pringao' or 'perdedor', it could also be 'lelo', which starts with an L as well.
Yes, I start my translations with Google Translations, then apply what I know of Spanish, looking in my Spanish dictionary, and often double-checking grammar by searching the phrase on Google(only good for verifying already-correct phrases). I translate the comics mostly to learn Spanish. Sometimes, if I'm really stuck, I go to the Wordreference.com forums and ask... and sometimes get corrections for words I didn't ask about, but were in the phrase, je.
I can use all the corrections I can get, and I sometimes make notes in my Spanish dictionary for other usages. I'll add "lelo" to the "loser" entry, and I guess I'll note that it's specifically "idiot" as a noun or "silly" as an adjective, since the Spanish-English side of the book says this. It's good to have a lot of alternatives. On this comic, I wasn't sure if making an L with your fingers would be recognized as anything in Spanish-speaking countries, although American movies like Clueless would have spread these symbols a long way.
I currently write my scripts the same day that I upload the comic, and translate them immediately after I upload the English version, so there's no way of running my translations by Spanish speakers before uploading them. Anytime I finish a comic ahead of schedule(it's been over a year since that's happened), FA is the first site to get it. Maybe I'll start offering the Spanish versions with the early editions. Editing is good incentive for getting ahead.

OK :) Well, I really don't mind sending you more correct translations/adaptations of your comics with little notes so you can know the why's and the how's. To be sincere, I have no idea in the world of what this comic in special is saying! xD I'll have to go to the english version to find out. Online translators suck ass badly, and when it comes to translating into spanish they go totally crazy! I've seen no advance on this technology in 20 years! It's crazy :)

Heh, this comic doesn't make much sense without the other comics in the storyline. I probably should have given some context when I uploaded this one. This is the second Kenny Chronicles comic, and the first 4 comics go together, so I'd recommend starting with the first comic so you know what's going on.
The first comic in Spanish is on my site here, and each comic has a link to the English version. The most convenient place to leave comments is under the Spanish comic. The site designs are different because I haven't gotten around to translating the new theme into Spanish. Should be easy enough, since the old theme has the same words, but it's still a big task. Maybe I'll work on that tonight.
