I decided to donate two paintings to a local animal welfare- and charity organisation so they can sell them on their craft fair.
Not my usual fantasy- and dark stuff, but I wanted it to be general so it has a bigger chance to sell at the craft fair. ^^ Irish Connemara Ponies as Irish Legends: This is Epona. NOT Link's horse)
I know Epona wasn't necessarily portraied as a horse, but I found it fitting to do so in this case. Very interesting deity, indeed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epona
Watercolour on hpt pressed watercolour paper with some touch ups with coloured pencils and white ink.
IF YOU LIKE THIS IMAGE PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO THE GALWAY CAT RESCUE! THANK YOU!

The situation with Irish stray cats is really really bad. A lot of people do not know this, but there are about 1,4 million stray cats in Ireland and this is a country with roughly 4,5 million inhabitants, only. There is a lot of animal abuse as well. I support Galway Cat Rescue so they can trap and spay wild cats and nurse and re-home cats and kittens in need.

Where did I ever say I had "a strong dislike of the species [canines ]"????
First of all: I do not have any 'strong dislike of any sort towards any animal species.
Then: I just recently uploaded a picture with two jackals. Even so it had an egyptic theme, as far as I am concerned, jackals ARE canines. The reason I don't draw canines as often as ungulates is that I like ungulates more, truth. They are more appealing to me and also, I draw them better. While I appreciate any commission request for canines and do my best to practice them more apart from commissions, I usually do not find my results appealing enough to upload them. But I apload all my canine commissions. IT just happens to be when I draw what comes to my mind, ungulates are always on my mind while canines are just special guests. :p DOESN'T mean I dislike them!
And third: This is a charity in a local town that is directly NEXT to the Connemara Moore. The IRish inhabitants of this town sure like dogs, but let me tell you they ADORE their Connemara Ponies which they breed with pride. So when I do a charity for a CAT WELFARE and I decide to draw something different than cats, then Connemara Ponies are the way to go. here. This isn't for a furry con charity. On a furry con charity I would have gone for big cats or canines, that's for sure. :p
And then: thanks for the praise and yes, you really should. Epona is a very interesting goddess from a historical point of view as well! I think she's the only diety that was adapted by the Romans from the IRish and then widely worshipped all over Europe.

So wait, you like dogs? You did not seem one to like dogs at all. But to be honest I initially saw your avatar and mistook you for someone else (apologise)
For liking dogs they sure have no dog rescues or dog friendly organizations in this irish town.
Ponies
Lovely drawing.

They do, actually: http://madra.ie/
But in fact, I know that MADRA receives more donations than GCS, so I decided to help them out. Pic your battles. NExt xear, I'll support the IRish Horse Welfaire association if possible.
