An old half-assed map I did of Aethica (a small bit of Nordica is visible to the north.) The dots are the capitals. More later.
Estica (ess-tih-cah), outlined in purple.
A reclusive nation that lives, dies, and swears by the sword. Estica was the primary location where the Oathsworn of Kalas based themselves, and in fact originated from. Estica is an aristocracy.
Velas (vey-loss), outlined in red.
Velas is the seat of magic and knowledge, and heavily police the learning of arcane practice. All individuals born with 'Talent' are taken to the Valasian Embassy of their nation, as all magic is the domain and property of Velas. Some families hide their children from Velasian Magistrates- who become illegal 'apostates.' These are hunted and killed, typically, by Edaran or Baraskian mercenaries.
Barask (bar-rahsk), outlined in orange.
Homeland of the Baraskian race, often called the 'Children of the Gods' or the 'Firstborn' in their own tongue, believing the gods to have been dragons, a nature they physically share. Barask is ruled by a matriarch, and is as well a matriarchal society. Baraskians are a warlike people, but keep most of their conflict within their borders. Baraskian mercenaries are well respected in establishment.
Edar (eh-dahr), outlined in blue.
Edar is the most religious nation in Aethica, having a complex system of religious leaders in control and any number gaining or losing power in their faith-based struggles. Edar believes that uncontrolled magic is of evil nature and works closely with Velas to ensure it's controlled.
Solica (so-lih-ka), outlined in green.
A nation of trade in the center of the continent, everything goes through Solica, and as such Solican currency is highly sought-after. Solican merchant barons run much of the trade within, and around Aethica. Solica is also the seat of technological progress, and is in the early stages of steam technology.
