Trail tags I made in school via Line-Art + MasterCam + HAAS T100 Laser Cutter
Neither tags have been shined, and the right one has yet to be cleaned.
Left: Stainless Steel -- Shiny without any work, Can scratch damn easily
Right: Inconel -- Requires shining, Very very strong metal made to be subjected to extreme heat..aka, wont scratch easy, and overkill.

http://i.imgur.com/V1uaFWq.jpg Little closer pic, this was before brushing the burns off, but you can see level of detail is fine. Think this machine was 0.001" accurate w/0.01" beam... In other words, you can look very closely with a magnify glass and see this was digitally converted not hand drawn, because instead of a smooth curve, its 90-degree boxes XD
