i just cleaned my pc and and decided to count the fans i have in there XD
1x for the power supply
2x for the cpu cooler
4x for the gpu (2 who are there normally and 2 i put on it cuz the card is always on high temp even if i just watch tv and browse)
1x 120mm on the back
2x 120mm on the side
1x 230mm on the side
1x 200mm on the top
2x 140mm on the front
makes 14 fans at all... who has more?XD

good quality fans are cheap nowdays but for a good watercooling system i have to spend alot and if there breaks one part then the whole system is down (ecept i make a few seperate circuts but thats not the sense of a watercooler).
soo if just one or 2 fans that are not working it wont affect the system much (ecept higer temp on the part wich they supposed to cool down) and i can still use it till i odered new fans

my PC has a crap load of fans too... even had to make room for more fans... the case was not designed for a beastly motherboard and graphics I have so major case mods were required. 12 fans in total... and believe it or not... my server has one and makes more noise then my desktop HAHAHAH
I would also suggest keeping a eye out on ebay for server fan power distributers i found one that can run 8 fans and it includes 2 temp diodes and an alarm, theres no controls but its good if you want to have an ear out for the running condition of up to 8 fans It fits in a 3.5 inch floppy bay slot.
9x 120mm left side
1x140mm right side (behind the cpu)
2x 200mm front (for the hdd's)
2x 200mm top
2x 120mm back CPU compact water cooling
2x 200mm bottom
1x 135mm power supply
2x 120mm GPU (on the cooler)
1x 140mm GOU (i put it above the GPU chip)
22 fans all have red LED's (except the power supply fan)
mouse keyboard my both monitors and my 5.1 Surround system + my external sound card have blue LED's
yay i don't need any additional lightning ^^

I recently just built a pc. My Cpu and 2 Gpu's all have an inclosed liquid cooling system by NZXT, that requires no maintenance, while cooling the same, if not better, than most custom water cooling systems. The cpu is on a large 240 radiator with 2-140 fans, and each of the gpu's are attached with a NZXT kraken bracket and have a 140 radiator with 1-140 fan, and each radiator has the ability to put a fan on each side, so if I wanted to, my 240 radiator could have 4-140 fans, but it didn't seem necessary. built to test out some overclocking things and I found a 60%-70% decrease in cpu temp when overclocked to 4.2 on a haswell, as opposed to a fan cooling, but that number might just be because the mb i'm testing in on has great heatsinks built in. all together, my system has;
1-200 front fan
1-140 angled fan behind disc slots (Came with case, why not. Most of them did actually)
2-140 bottom fans and radiators
2-140 fans with one radiator on top, plus another 140 fan next to it on top
2-120 back fan
1-230 side fan on side panel
2-200 fans, one for each Gpu bracket
1-can't remember size, on power supply
All fans are white and my case has a built in RGB coloring led system that lets me choose every possible color, or i can set it to cycle through them, and the white fans take on the color of the lighting.
less amount of fans, but not needed as im liquid cooled. But i did build a custom case for a project in my class that everyone took part in. It had 38-140 fans and 12-230 fans, but it was needed as we built an internal-network server structure that networked 12 cpu's and mother boards, all second rate garbage mind you, like donated stuff. It looked ugly and was the size of a casket but we got an A.
