1. There is still the blackmail Herman holds which won't be stopped by his death. While it probably won't hurt the goverment too much, it would hurt the church worldwide, which would probably have worse repercussions.
2. The army did not manage to kill him. Nor did the mayor with his hired killers. Also, Herman is not stupid.
3. By now he probably has a few followers that would sacrifice themselves if it keeps him alive.
4. Maybe a suicidal killer could kill him, but I think it would have to be a very good one.

Kjartan. You've got some pretty powerful stuff here, and it's well thought out and full of great dialog. I especially like your formatting the panels to reflect the two side's different views of the same situation. However I tend to read comics from Left to right, and there's some confusion if I read the comics in the "Traditional" style. Would the strips work better if a bold, black line separated the two rows of panels? Just a thought.

I agree. If I started in just reading a page to get the gist of what's happening I'd be confused as hell.
It's a great idea..just not the best executed way to do it.
