What was but a simple fictional poem on Earth, turned out to be so much more for other races in the universe: Not a fiction, but part of history, as Beowulf's adventures became known on many worlds. For he was not from Earth, but originally an intergalactic adventurer and monster hunter, whose most famous confrontation was with the great half-beast warrior Grendel and his mother, both of whom he managed to defeat in an epic battle that shook an entire continent. Not long after this battle has passed, Beowulf answered the call from from Ganelomm and joined the gathered champions in the war against Chaos forces, eventually becoming one of the Founding Four of the Warriors of Eternity.
While many hailed him as a hero that everyone loved, Beowulf was more than aware of his past misdeeds and how many times he allowed his pride and bloodlust to blind him during his battles, often striking down many monsters that probably didn't even deserve to suffer from his rage, and despite everything, considered Grendel to be his most worthy adversary and rival, often musing about how he misses him. Due to this, he often tends to share his stories with future warriors that would inherit his name and position, requesting from them to never let their pride guide them. The current warrior who inherited his powers, and has sworn an oath to be as humble and generous as instructed, is Jonathan Breckenridge, young human of Scottish descent from Earth. Most approachable member of the group, Jonathan often acts as counterpart to Dominic's hot blooded, arrogant nature, and tries his best to stop any tensions or disagreements between his comrades. As he inherited some of Beowulf's traits along with his powers, Jonathan tends to sometimes slip into old-fashioned way of speaking, and tends to refer to Valdora as "My Lady". The arm guard on his left side is an enchanted item which covers his entire arm and provides him not only with protection, but also with enhanced strength and some extra tools he may find useful in battle, like shield, spear or chain whip, all weapons used by the first Beowulf.
