it was -15F in Montana one night when the generator for power and heat went out, but when I walked outside I was just about to turn on my flashlight when I noticed how bright it was from the moon and stars alone, I could see details clear across the valley. The following night I spent a few hours outside trying to capture how beautiful and clear the sky was before the moon rose. Unfortunately a cameras sensor doesn't have any where near the same dynamic range and sensitivity as your eyes.
If I didn't forget to bring a tripod, charger, and the usb cable for my phone, I could have done a proper time laps. I had to settle with a stool and a stick as my "quad-pod"
of course the cameras operating temperature is 32F to 104F
So I was worried about it being damaged by the cold.
