Wow, that was amazing! You should write more of this stuff. You're art is really good. Quick question, do you start your art with pencils and then ink it? Or do you just go straight to inking and skip the sketches?

Almost always, I pencil first, then ink it with a fountain pen. There are a few on here which are straight pen sketches, but that's pretty rare, and I wouldn't do a comic that way.

Seriously, this is intense and lovely in its way. And it makes me wonder, just how DID Shard and Danielle hook up? It doesn't seem to be the sort of thing that would normally happen. Well, neither does a vampiric ghost, either, but given the world I live in, I wouldn't know.

And yeah, I felt sorry for the murderer, but well, not a terribly bad way to go, if you have to.

I know all of Danielle and Shard's backstory. In a world that made any sense, I would have done that piece first. But alas, no. When I'm done with the big story about them I am in the middle of, and a couple smaller ones, maybe I'll actually write how they met. /facepalm/

But there is a short version: Danielle travelled to a remote location for some land negotiations with one Lady Greywood, a powerful wolf who has custody of her, and her fiance at the time. There, certain other people wanted to do some Very Bad Things to poor little Danielle. Shard, one of the haunts at this place, took a fancy to Danielle and took exception to this, and offered her protection. It was also a convenient way for Shard to get free of the house, via a piece of her bone which Danielle wears on her choker (and cannot remove). So now Shard gets to haunt the world, Danielle has a demon lover (and the knowledge that Shard is loose because of her) and everyone is more or less happy. ;)

In a world where you postulate ghosts, death is nothing to fear, although dying might be. Shard made the trip quick and less.. messy, as she put it. I just hope the murderer has peace from his voices, wherever he is now.

No, not really; on its own terms, it was quite subtle... and intriguing.

I would urge you to draw more comics like this one, because you have interesting ideas and a definite flair for comic-style narrative.
