What if he is after frost and the unicorn would screw that up, or he's worried that someone what could get your hopes up for two months knowing full well they are going to break your heart is not good boyfriend material.
Too him if he is interested in a relationship they are perfect for eachother in the simple fact that both are helltouched and that means they are safe from each other, no panicking and running to the police then being effectively killed by the one person you where foolish enough ot trust enough to tell the truth

Okay I'm actually curious. Is there some kind of rule of furry writing that it's either just porn or, if there is story, it's just some sort of throwaway circumstantial setup for the porn? Personally, I like story with porn and don't see why those two things can't go hand in hand, but I get this sort of response sometimes.
Does the presence of porn somehow negate the story's value, or is this story just shit anyway? I mean, I didn't want it to be something epic or serious, just a funny sort of love story.
I'm 75K into writing a story and only 2K of that is erotica, but I've been contemplating just making the characters humans and posting it outside of FA. Primarily because of these types of dismissals. In not so many words, I really enjoy the story I'm writing and I'm wondering whether I'm just pandering to the wrong audience. Some may argue that a good story doesn't need to go into the porn-y details, but to me 'story' and 'just an elongated porno' seem like really narrow definitions. Like the dirty naughty stuff has to sit in a camp where it's dismissed as crap but regularly enjoyed for hedonistic reasons alone, while stories get to enjoy a certain amount of respectability so long as none of the characters drops their trousers. Not that these weird lines drawn in the sand are going to stop me from trying; I'm enjoying the work, at the very least. Another example for this is SalKitten's 'Kiss in the Rain'. It's 28 pages long, has a sex scene that only lasts for 3 pages and the focus is on the story.

Interesting! It's not what I would have expected if I was just randomly posed the question, but taking a second to think about it I guess it's not as surprising. The furry community is centered around creativity, and we get enough sex exposure from websites like FA already, so when we get the opportunity to lose ourselves in a furry story for the sake of the story, it's all the more enjoyable. The LGBT community, which covers a much wider base and is rooted more in RL, probably use books and such as sexual exposure more than how people regularly on furry websites do.
My feeling is that there is just SOOO much porn in furry, that everyone has come to expect that furry = porn. So, if there is a story, then it must just be a lead-up to porn. Sadly, it seems that furry = gay porn more and more. Wasn't it all just supposed to be about the art (clean, adult and otherwise)?

I didn't mean that in a negative way, although I could have said it nicer..sorry but really I was just genuinely curiousif that's what this was planned to be or if it just has sex scenes in it. I guess there a bit of grey area there lol but I don't think sex devalues a story. Shit, half the movies out there have some sort of errotic scene in it. I personally enjoy it, hence why i read it:) although I could go without the gay stuff. I don't hate it..I just thing that the abundance of it on FA has pretty much turned me off to it all together
Aww, no worries, I guess I just misinterpreted your meaning. I brought all this up because I am genuinely curious, though, so I'm happy to hear everyone's point of view. Also a nice surprise to see how many people do like having a story to look forward to rather than just porn :) As for the gay stuff, I can't speak much for FA in general, but I used to read a lot of slash fiction and while some of the stereotypes in that are terrible, the ones that aren't stereotypical are really quite good. I'd hazard to say they're a sight better than most hetero-romance written for publication, where the lead female roles are cardboard cut outs 90% of the time.
I think having detailed storylines in comics and such is a great thing, especially in a community that tends to write stories and comics made mostly of porn. Honestly without a story I see no point in investing myself in checking for an update, I get no feeling of excitement for the next update. The suspense of waiting an undetermined amount of time to see where the story will lead is just as an important role as the depth of the story being told. It's like having to put down a book to go do something and having it in the back of your mind till you finally get to open it back up and engross yourself with your predictions and how it actually played out.
I see this as not elongated porn, but building a base and emotional connection with the characters. I personally think this comic is suburb so far and can't wait to read more. :3

I have to agree with pheonix2. I keep checking back to see if you have made an update. I could care less if you had another sex scene with such an amazing story. Guess you could say you are making an emotional roller coaster not of just one character, but several. I'm curious on if the unicorn actually develops an emotion connection with his partners, is actually a jerk that puts on a mask for the virgins, and if he genuinely cannot be seen by non virgins or if it's some sort of magic he has and chooses not to be seen by anyone other than potential victims. As for Cinder, he reminds me of a character in another story I read before. He puts on a show for those around him because of something he is hiding be it something physical like cinder's helltouched tattoo, or something that he has as a reputation that isn't true but he keeps the guise because it gets him some of something he has been wanting before then.
I personally prefer a great story, yes erotica can be nice and it absolutely can have its place even in an amazing story, but especially with this story I rather want to know more about the world these two live in. Either way it goes I look forward to the stories progress :)

Ah, this is giving me such feelings! It seems Cinder's grown an attachment for Frost, if the Unicorn is found then their time together ends. Some might think low of Cinder for this, but it's obvious how lonely he is. This development just makes him so adorable in my eyes because he doesn't want to let go of Frost after they've been getting so close. At least thats what I've gathered.... I could be wrong but, I really love this story!

For someone so brash and confident, it sure seems a surprise that Cinder is a virgin...however,that does explain subtly why he's a bully. Pent-up biology and feelings of insecurity do lead to bullying as a way to vent and quell his tension...

Hmm, I'm getting the feeling that Cinder really likes Frost! If he didn't believe him about the unicorn, he certainly does now. Still, I think he's starting to feel kind of hopeless. I really think Cinder likes Frost, but seeing the unicorn just serves as a reminder to him that Frost's heart is already set for someone else.
Every time you post a new page I just squeal! Thank you for making this story. Personally I love that this isn't just sex scene, transition into another sex scene. I love that you have them talking and growing together...

The story and premise is overall very original but this seems like a stagnant point for the story, it's been hanging in place for a while with the two characters roaming around searching. Glad something finally happened, but I hope that the pace picks up a little bit. I don't want to unrightfully bash though, I'm engrossed in this comic pretty deeply hehe. And the art is beautiful, one of my favorite things about your art is that you always create vivid expressions on the characters' faces, plenty of emotion. I'm not very active on FA but I've been checking up on this often!
I think part of the reason you feel it's dragging is because of how long it takes between updates. This wouldn't take long to read in one go. That's part of what makes pacing webcomics difficult. However, this isn't going to be a really epic sort of story. A lot of the actual story is happening in the quiet moments between the big events!:)

So Cinder is a virgin and can see Ciel but didn't mention that to Frost when he said he would help him find him? So during those first 5 days of searching when he didn't know what he looked like, Cinder was just wondering around aimlessly since he knew he wasn't going to witness anyone talking to thin air. I would make another comment on how Cinder doesn't make the best choices but at this point its seeming less like fault on Cinder's part and more like plot holes.

A lie of love. Cinder doesn't want Frost to know Ciel's there or else Frost will gravitate away from Cinder who has probably only bullied Frost because he's had a crush on him for all these years and Cinder doesn't want that.
