Also, your shout spawned some thoughts on how I got to the point where I can actually do a project like this.

High school was... a long time ago for me. There's a lot of time ahead of you to learn, trust me; I hadn't even decided art was the Thing I Wanted To Go Pro With at that point!

Maybe you'll get to the balance between perfectionism and confidence earlier; maybe you'll try several times and do four whole sets before you arrive at one where you didn't learn so much in the process that you can't bear to look at the first one. Hell, there's nothing stopping you from diving into the reference material and seeing what comes out of your pencil right now. But if you don't try, it's certain you'll never finish one.

College: Declare whatever major makes you happy. If you find that two years in you're still stuck in the pre-reqs for your major and your electives are halfway to the requirements for another major, change it. Nobody gives a shit about your high school GPA once it's been used to make college entrance requirements.
