After finally getting my mitts on a working scanner, I'm going to be posting up some new sketches today!

Here we have Catherine Sonora in a newer rendition of her uniform she'll be wearing in the Argonaut Privateers Project. The Project is still underway though we are now 5 1/2 stories completed (before editing.) Progress announcement aside, here's an explanation for Catherine's three-star badge.

In the Confederation of Galohan (or the Confed as it is informally called) allows the creation of privateering crews. Unlike the privateers from the Golden Age of Pirates where they can do whatever they wanted so long they get the job done, privateering is much more regulated in the Confed for good reason. Similar to the Federal Firearms Licenses issued in the US, Confed-based privateers are issued Letters of Marques that are categorized in different types of classes. The LOMs allows the privateers legal access to various restricted weaponry and privileges such as being an acting police force with limitations. Obtaining higher ranking LOMs will get you more legal access to more privileges though there are certain points when the Confed government will start keeping closer tabs on you.

Catherine Sonora is a Class Three Privateer as indicated by the three stars on her badge. What she can do is legally access conventional military weaponry and be an acting police force. If she is acting as a police force, she is then legally required to notify the Confed of her actions ASAP or face legal repercussions.
