I had a hard time discerning the differences between ostrich and emu skulls just by looking at images, but now that I own both species, the differences are very clear as far as shape and of course...size.

Oooow. I forgot about that (my FA inbox is constantly filled with "I SELL THIS SKULL ANYWHERE" submissions)
I don't know where you are, but Argentina is not really complicated with its biological remains laws (At least is WAAAAAAAY more lax than USA). But you're right, when it cames to import/export is not that easy.

I'm in the USA, so customs for such things are very strict both for our protection, and the protection of the species. Its sad that it has to be that way, because people would abuse the system otherwise and we would likely have a lot more endangered species on our hands :(
Ooow =/ in Argentina it's only prohibited to make, let's say, "Charangos" made out from Mulitas, or to kill an animal of a endangered species, or to make money out of the products of that species. We don't have that "YOU CAN'T TOUCH IT EVEN IF THAT JUST FALL PLAIN DEAD IN YOUR GARDEN" laws.
PD: Sadly, no one of the laws concerning animals is strict here.
