Yeah, it is really really hard to drill through a high carbon steel like you get in exact-o-blades without something like a carbide drill bit a press, and a water jet to cool it. I've had to drill holes through steel that was once a file (which needs to be a hard steel as you can imagine I'm sure) and though I got it done it took a lot of patience.
