I think there's definitely some good progress being made here! You're still keeping the painterly quality without the real disconnect between the background and foreground there was before. It's not the same kind of background (forest versus field), but I like the direction you're taking it.
I'm actually looking over those posts again and love how you made them fade into the background. Great work there, and a real nice touch.
And this beats sending Zadziory on a snipe hunt. Though I'm sure they'd do that to. :D

I'm really liking this iteration of your background art. Something about it seems to reflect the period more (wish I could phrase that better...) and it really pulls me into your story/world. I do wonder how it would look with a bit of super quick airbrushing to blend the characters in with the background a tiny bit more (that's assuming you're open to doing a bit of digital touch-up work).
It's an absolute shame you don't have more viewers! Stuff like this is why I'm always happy when I see a new bit of work by you in my submissions box. Keep up the arts !
