I totally understand, since I live only about an hour or so away from the tornado that hit in Illinois. *sigh* Thankfully, all we got was high winds, rain and hail.

I've been really lucky in Moline...we have never had one where we are in the city (though out by the Moline Airport there's been some sighted). But we have those old air-raid sirens which go off during severe weather now. There is one on the street right in front of my apartment complex (so it is VERY LOUD). I always worry when they say that one has been sighted in Davenport/Bettendorf (Iowa), because that is literally RIGHT ACROSS THE [Mississippi] RIVER from where I am. But...mostly we get the high winds. One time the winds were almost 70mph and it blew over my neighbor's porch swing (which he has bolted down!).

That. Is an awesome gift! :D I have had to do some of those tornado warning nights, not fun

oh god don't even talk about them I LITERALLY HAVE TORNADO NIGHTMARES
