The African Elephant is the biggest land mammal on the planet, but not the biggest animal overall. That honor belongs to the blue whale. These gentle giants are herbivorous, meaning they eat plants and other vegetation. Females (Like this one) tend to live in herds with their young calves. Males however, are solitary and only come to a female during the mating season. Males enter a sexual state known as "Musth" on occasion. When this happens, they become highly driven by sex and are much more aggressive than normal. Many humans have been killed by elephants, but the killings are nothing compared to those killed by Hippos (Which are the most aggressive creatures in Africa).
