This is a reference of my OC Nightshade. He is by definition, a shiny Pokemon. But he is more likely to be considered a "Shadow" Pokemon because of his coloration. Growing up, others were often fearful or hateful of Nightshade because of his coloration. This prejudice against him growing up corrupted the way his way of looking at things, making him hate others and making the claim that he's a Shadow Pokemon that much more accurate.

Nightshade has a twin sister, Aurora. They were separated when they were still young Riolu. But they were reunited several years later. Like Nightshade, Aurora had changed since when they were younger. But where Aurora became more shy and lonely, Nightshade became more aggressive and hateful.

Nightshade chose to accept Alec Willey as his trainer when Alec was the first to show him some kindness. It wasn't an immediate choice.

Nightshade later began to take a liking to another one of Alec's Pokemon who was also different, Eevreon, who was a "semi-evolved" Eevee (or a pre-evolved Umbreon). Though he had taken a liking to Eevreon, he would never admit to it.
