I've been tinkering away at this for a couple weeks now. Much of the rigging and skin weights are rough, so there's still quite a bit of odd deformation that'll need to be smoothed out before I can do anything interesting with her.
I mostly did this because I need to better understand Maya's workflow and develop my 3D skills for work. I thought doing up Neesah as a test would be a fun way to start.
There's a good chance that I'll be doing Jessi in 3D. I've been looking for a medium to tell his story and I think 3D's the way to go.
Yes, she's "fully" modeled. I didn't leave anything out. You'll have to wait till I've smoothed everything out on her model before I show you any of that sort of stuff though. :)

What version of maya do you have ? I will ask around for some maya hair tutorials for ya if you like? If it's any consolation I am working on a 3D scene of my own only difference is that I am doing it in blender. So far I'm pretty shocked at what the software can do yes there are some limitations but almost everything I could do in max, xsi and maya I can do in blender :)
I'm still trying to rig her properly. What's really got me stumped is self-collision and incidental-deformation (because, you know, I'm a furry and there's things that I'd like to animate that involve collision and deformations). I've seen quite a bit of neat stuff using Maya muscle too. I would LOVE to pick your brain on how to proceed.
