Here's a better view of the front of the costume.
Making the hand guards was the biggest pain in the ass, they're hammered out of 16ga 5056 Aluminum which is cold workable but doesn't want to be dished without plenty of effort. Lots and lots and lots of hammer strikes into a bowl dug into the sandy soil in my back yard to get them to dish nicely. Next time I'm using 2000 series aluminum.
Wrist guards (not shown) were hand hammered around the only mandrel I had which was the right size: VW Vanagon constant velocity joints. On the inside of the cuffs I could see the turning marks from the outside of the CV joint steel.
Ankle guards are also 5056, bent around the same mandrel.
Strap buckles are 5056 aluminum again, lots of filing for those damn slots.
All aluminum parts were brush finished with scotch brite and then clear coated so they wouldn't rub off on the fur.
Boots are snowboard boots which I pimped out to look like the character using the magic of Duct Tape.
Cape was made from some overpriced satin from Joann Fabrics, along with the overpriced cape strap material. But it was better than any of the crap I found at the halloween store. Edges are serged and it even has interfacing on the collar.
Cape clasp is 20ga mild steel, painted black with sculpy formed around it. Note to self, sculpy makes things HEAVY.
Thong was purchased of ebay as a plain red and black jock strap. I had to rebuild it with the striping and add the clasps to match the artwork. Not shown is a leather t-back which is riveted to the straps, looks as much like the original artwork as I could manage.
Fursuit is by the freaking amazing
