Naket Sally by Hippotaur
2 minutes 58 seconds
This piece was commissioned by Angus Oblong for a Performance Art Show that he put on in Sacramento in 1990.
The particular act it was created for was some sort of strip-tease with lots of waiving hands coming out from black curtains behind the teaser for the first two minutes, then all the performers came out and danced on the stage for the last minute. Or something like that. All I remember of that act now was that the performers didn't perform according to their instructions.
I do remember some chubby guy being taped to a wall about a foot up in the air, and a muscular guy walking around in underwear whom Angus had painted to look like a living Greek statue - and he did!
And being Performance Art from that time period...well, lots of tin foil was involved somehow as well.
Realized on Yamaha DX-100 synthesizer, Roland drum machine, effects boxes, and 8-track tape recorder. Best listened to with headphones.

it's just so..different. it immediately grabbed me...you know what it kind of sounds like though? the music they used to play in the early "tales from the crypt" episodes. (i've got most of the the seasons on dvd). this could have easily been played at the titty bar on the episode with demi moore.
oingo boingo is danny elfman's band, right? they were like a precurser to weird bands like mr. bungle....yeah, i've liked a "darker" vibe to music. there's something really intence about that...and david bryne was cool with the talking heads. they had some weird rhythms going on in there music. like funky and nerdy at the same time.
