Tube rectifiers are always fun! but sadly they hold no advantage over modern diode ones

yeah they are fun! ... you also can stack a second 220 on there and stick around (mental math warning) half of the maximum of the max rating of the tube ... also it might sound like no-duh but me working on a power supply for work i must add if you replace the resistor with a large inductor and move the resistor to the output then after that resistor put a 0.47u AC cap (or something like that) you can get some really smooth DC output seeing how its a half wave rectifier

but it is beautifully elegant ... way before my time XP
