Alternate Universe Seshi. A total bad ass warlord who works for Hari.
In the alternate universe, after the big war, Seshiro (like in the normal time flow) begs Crow to forgive him for basically being a murder machine for the past... like 40 humans years and give him a chance to turn himself around. Crow is about to agree, (here is where it changes) when Creytell comes up to him and convinces him that Seshiro could never change, at least, not for the better. Crow agrees with his husband and turns his back on Seshiro, leaving him on the battle field alone among the dead. A man comes from the shadows and kneels down, offering Seshiro a hand up, telling him that maybe he didn't have to change, and he could get better. Grief ridden, Seshiro agrees and goes with the man, where he becomes an even more powerful warlord, with legions of black knights under his command. Faust and Oric are even better off with Seshiro working for their father, and black knights stop being completely incompetent, and can actually very easily hold their own against the ascendants.
Speed to present day (or as far along as the story is on its own), The ascendants are few and far between, the circle is even barely holding it's numbers (and it only had 13 people to begin with). The ascendants are basically a small resistance force, as Hari has basically taken over every realm, including the human realm, which is basically a wasteland with few humans surviving. Seshiro leads the armies fearlessly and manages to capture Crow, and decides that for him turning his back, when it was his help that ended that war years ago in favor of the ascendants, he is to be put to death, and Seshiro wastes no time doing exactly that, forcing Creytell to watch him end Crow's life.
Good thing this didn't ever actually happen, lol.
