For realz. I was all like "Wew! They have buggies!!" And then we got over there and it was like "Damns! Nu buggies!!" I got lots of bats though!!

Warm weather around here soon, so I should have the odd buggeh or two wandering about the backyard! :)

Thanks to my work at the zoo, I am no longer afraid of spiders! It's amazing what one can accomplish with a Chilean rose-haired tarantula in your hands.
I am now appreciating your spider pics a lot more.

I've yet to handle a tarantula myself...maybe that will be the last step in me getting over my arachnophobia completely.

You're more brave than I. :D

My arachnophobia goes back to when I was a little girl. If I wanted to be part of my zoo's Outreach program (taking animals to schools and such) I needed to try to get over my fear. It took 8 months and several tranquilizers and the support of my friends to do it. The strange thing is that I never had problems with the 10 inch long African giant millipede and I got over my fear of the vinagroon very quickly.
Now I just need to work on being able to handle the Madagascar hissing cockroaches. Those give me the willies with a capital "W"!

Hehe. I think I'd be fine with everything non-spider. I have no idea what causes my reaction. I LOVE spiders. But, something makes me react negatively to them. It's subconcious.
