Feathertales (species OPEN)
These creatures live with a companion representing their soul, called a spirit. The spirit lives with them, and follows them through their lives. If the spirit becomes separated, the creature will search for it until they find it, and if it dies they slowly send themselves insane, as the spirit is what guides them through their lives. When they find a mate, they are then connected to both the spirits, the offspring being similar in colours to the parents and the spirit being a cross-breed of its parents spirit. On the occasion the young feather does not be born with the spirit, it searches for one, slowly livings its life very lonely, and as it grows older it does not age nor grow very big, so others of its kind usually pick it off or leave it behind.
