As a peace offering for forgetting my laptop and being without the ability to do ANY artwork whatsoever this weekend...please enjoy this picture of Otto. He is a little blue Dutch boy and the cause of the current ruckus here at my rabbitry.
Because apparently, due to this little fellow's cuteness and puppy-like personality, I breed Dutch now. Or will, come spring.
Though he's a blue, I will be focusing on tort Dutch, because they are even cuter. But it's all Otto's fault.
Currently home to two Dutch bucks (Atz and Otto...yes, I am a fan of Alaska: the Last Frontier) and one Dutch doe (Cookie Monster, aka Cookie for short...damn doe is obsessed with food and eats pellets in the horrifically violent manner of the Sesame Street character for which she is named).
Rise of the Dutch coinciding with backing off my Champagnes to just one buck. :P So technically, I will be breeding/raising/showing Dutch and Mini Rex. So many changes, ugh.
Good changes though. :)
ONE........TINY...........MISMARK.............that's how I got Otto here. One tiny dot of blue where he's supposed to be white...and he was going to a cull buyer. :P I got him free...and like a fluffy little virus he's become addicting.
Bothering my OCD-like love of rabbit paperwork something fierce..........he didn't come with a pedigree. AUGH MY BRAIN!!! Can't show him, can't register him, can't register his offspring, can't register his descendants until I can re-establish purity...........Otto here is damn lucky he's cute and sweet.
And yes that's his default expression: "........is that a treat for me? Pwese?" LOL.

I never liked Dutch because it was my brother's breed-of-choice, and his were always AWFUL. In fact I thought ALL rabbits except my friend's lop were terrible...until I got a few. Now I'm a rabbit fancier with a show herd, LOL!!!! My Dutch are NOTHING like his were...mine are all sweet and cute. :)
Very handsome boy! My fursona is half yellow Dutch and they're one of my breeds of choice. Personally believe that if you breed the animal that it's your responsibility to find the critter a good home if there's some reason you feel you can't use them for further breeding. Something like a small mark shouldn't turn into your sentence to the dinner table.
