If no one else has ever done this before, I'll be surprised. But I happened across this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=1asx4jz0KgI) on YouTube last night and the idea came to me as I was taking out the garbage later on.
This one kicks lots of ass too: http://youtube.com/watch?v=V0mTh_r6bSY

*raises eyebrow* Dude, it's totally about racism and most Americans' denial of it. Read the lyrics knowing that and it all makes sense: http://chocolate-rain.com/chocolate.....in-lyrics.html
Trust me, I've listened to the song soooo many times, but some of the lyrics really don't seem to make any sense in that "I been through the desert on a horse with no name" sense... I mean, (and I could be wrong on the lyric here) "Forecast still be falling yesterday"? It is a great song with a good message behind it, but yeah...
... funny pic, though. :D

It doesn't help that some of the lyrics don't exactly sound like how they're written. The lyrics are easier to interpret if they're read. And while I'm not exactly sure, I think 'chocolate rain' = 'the blood of black people'.
The line in question makes sense when paired with the line immediately following:
"Forecast to be falling yesterday
"Only in the past is what they say"
Since the song is about denial as much as racism itself, this part is referring to people thinking racism is a problem of the past, savvy?
One of my favorte lines is "Makes us happy 'livin in a gate". Imagine all the happy little white people in their gated communities; far, far away from the scary black folks.

I am not sure how to do a search for it, but I know I remember seeing something about a so-called race riot in France a few years ago where, in the aftemath, they tried to blame it on local blacks, who were actually a tiny, tiny part of the actual riot. That, and wasn't there a story about bodies being dumped into sewers in Mumbai?
Gah, I wish I had a better memory for these things. It's hard enough just keeping up with the day-to-day news. It all just blends into this huge white noise of everyone killing everyone else.

And that's why I stopped bothering with it. it's depressing, really... I heard about some 3rd graders conspiring to attack their teacher... they had plans and everything... what the fuck is wrong with the kids these days? Christ... >.<
But... I try not to really pay too much attention to the depressing bits of life, mainly because I'm not (yet) in a position to do anything about them... I added that yet because i have no idea what the future could hand me as far as "destiny" goes. >.>

I saw No Country For Old Men a few days ago, and one of the themes I took away from it is, as horrible as it is to consider, these days are no more violent and people are no worse than they always have been. We just have a ton more ways of hearing about it now, and we also tend to gloss over the atrocities of the past. If it's gettin' you down, realize that Americans right now have Never In All Of History Been Safer.
Oh, when I get Q powers... The shit I am gonna do...

Wait... the hell are Q powrs? O.o
And yeah, I understand that, too... but we always seem to focus on the bad rather than the good... there are brilliant scientists working on so many things these days, and I have no idea how far they are in their work, and honestly, whether it's of any use, really... all I can think of is the conspiracy theory that scientists already have a cure for cancer and are just milking the public for everything they've got before they give it out... dammit I hate getting in moods like these... >.<
Argh, I need a hug... and not one of those "over the internet, actions in asterisks" *hugs*'s things, either... a real, physical, human-to-human (preferably of opposite gender and at regular intervals) type of hug. >.>

Q? You know, like on Star Trek TNG? The omnipotent being with the unbelievably smug attitude and penchant for making Jean Luc holler?
I'm sorry I can't give you a real time hug right now, amigo. Although I recommend not wandering around outside and asking strangers to hug you. Could end in a bit of a mess.
