descriptions of the bunyip of Australia are as varied as they are vague, among the common features are it's dwelling in rivers or wetlands, it's deep booming cry and the high level of fear it inspires. It sneaks onto dry land at night to carry people off while they sleep, and is sometimes attributed a sort of bioluminescence.
